“It’s National Boot Day my darling girl”
I told my baby daughter
“And you have to wear your boots to school
Because the grass is wet with water.
And you have to tie your hair up too
Because the wind might blow it away
And you have to make sure you’re helpful
And do all the things I say.
You have to wear your winter coat
Because it’s important you remember
This is a very special month
And we’re calling it Coatvember.
Eat up your breakfast with big lion bites
And put your socks on your monkey-feet
And on with your boots my beautiful girl
And let’s out into the street.
It’s National Boot Day my little potato
And you must be on your way
And while you’re painting and playing and learning
I’ll think of you all day.
