Rainbow wishes

The father gave the daughter

A balloon for every day,

Hand tied with rainbow wishes

For each hope that he would say.

“The red one is your passion

Hold it dear in your possession

And should you decide to use it

You must do so with discretion.

Orange is for optimism,

To hold when you create,

Hold it close every time,

You feel someone filled with hate.

Yellow is your sunshine,

It will help you grow and play,

You will know life is a treasure

At the end of every day.

The green balloon will remind you

Of that which you must serve,

This tiny little world of ours,

And all you must preserve.

Blue is there to calm you,

Like the gentle hanging sky,

It hangs there to reassure you,

That each day you have to try.

Purple is your favourite

And it’s meaning you will see

Is there so you will always

Feel eternal love from me”.

The father gave the daughter

Floating hope to fly above

Hand tied with rainbow wishes

And sealed with all his love.
