Tangled web

The tangled web sits waiting,

Like an old fisherman’s net,

The tangled web sits waiting,

Like woven and knotted regret.

The tangled web is rotting,

Like the mass of hidden roots,

The tangled web is rotting,

Like half buried leather boots.

The tangled web is empty,

Like a closed down rail line,

The tangled web is empty,

Like this closed down life of mine.
