I can wander through the fields
Green grassed and ever flowing
And see the spring flowers feeding
On the sunlight, softly glowing.
I can wander through the lanes,
Long and wistfully winding,
And seek nothing that’s ever sought,
Or find no thing worth finding.
I can hold a longing gaze,
Across an early moonlit sky,
To see the sunlight drop away,
And another day pass by.
I can see the moon rise up
Its nightly defiant emersions,
And I, a dot in the universe,
With my unassuming diversions.
