Orion’s Belt

I imagined you again. You come to me in my dreams,

And I might as well try and reach up and pluck the stars,

To hang on my library wall, as try and close you from my mind.

I imagined you again. You visited me in my thoughts,

Where I urged you to leave me to contemplate more simple visions,

Like holding back all of the seas with the sweeping of a broom.

I may as well tie my trousers with Orion’s Belt or melt the Himalayas

For you are a locked thought, a remembrance and a vision frozen.

You are my blue sky, you are my rustling wind, my smell of spring,

I may as well try and take the green from the trees with a teaspoon.

I may as well try and lift and move the rivers like a rug,

Than try and cast you from my thoughts.

I will imagine you again. You come to me in my dreams.
