Memory Free

Summer smells like sweaty skin and dust and water in the lake

And tastes like a yearning that’s nearly way too much to take

It seems like long ago

But memories just wont go

But wishing that I could be

Just memory free

Summer nights just aren’t the nights to get to know yourself

When all that you can see and think about are pictures on the shelf

It seems like long ago

Life feels like melting snow

I wish that I could be

Just memory free

Summer is the season that we wish for and hope will bring change

When you’re freezing in your car and wish your life could re-arrange

You get down on your knees

You cry and call out please

You wish that you could be

Just memory free
