Why do so few wake early to watch the sunrise?
While so many want to watch the sunset.
Is it because we see the moon rise?
What if sunrise was at lunchtime?
Would that make it easier?
What if one happened after the other?
That would make it cheesier.
“Here comes the sun. Now turn around darling. There it goes again”.
Or is it because no one looks back at their birth with hope?
Rather, they look toward their death, toward the end.
Is there not still time to ponder our birth and hope?
“Let us stand and watch the final years, here on this beach as the light grows dark and I grow weary.”
So many look toward sunset.
I turn my back and see the moon rise.
